Steve has spent nearly 20 years working with private companies and small capitalization public companies. Prior to co-founding Madison Bay, Steve spent 14 years at Levensohn Venture Partners (LVP) where he worked on a wide range companies across software, semiconductor, communications and business services. He is now a Director on the Board of Aria Systems, Inc.
While at LVP, Steve held board seats at BigFix (acquired by IBM), Broadlogic (acquired by Broadcom), and Capella (acquired by Alcatel Lucent). He also spent considerable time working other LVP portfolio companies including Akros Silicon (acquired by Kinetic Technologies), Covigo (acquired by Symbol), Rapt (acquired by Microsoft), Reconnex (acquired by McAfee), and Shotspotter.
Prior to LVP, Steve held a variety of equity research positions at Robertson Stephens, Van Kasper & Company and JP Morgan where he covered industrial, business services and payment processing small cap companies. He also was an early employee and Director of Finance at ZuluSports, a content provider, where he was involved in strategy development, capital raising, and operations.
Steve is a graduate of Middlebury College, where he received a BA in international politics and economics as well as Japanese. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Kauffman Fellow (class 14). When not running around after his two girls, he’s often found on a bike, skiing in the mountains, or windsurfing under the Golden Gate Bridge. He has no ability to sit still.
